starting the mario bros blanket
So I started a blanket for my nephew today. 2 hours and 15 minutes later omgosh I have 41/2 rows. I know Im a slow crocheter but i just learned how to crochet AND i just learned how to add color AND I just learned how to follow a graph so that I can crochet an image. So im pretty proud of myself, somebody give me a gold star!
anyway, my measurements are not coming out right, (what a surprise coming from someone who re-took college algebra 'bout 4 times) Ugh this is so fun but kind of frustrating. I hope it comes out good, SCRATCH THAT, i want it GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

First attempt at yoshi crocheted!
So I have been Loom knitting for about a year now and I moved ont to CROCHETING!! I have always wanted to learn this, ever since I was a little girl. My mom tried to teach me but OMGOSH, it just wasnt happening. Here we are now 20 years and a diagnosis of Lupus later, I learned how to crochet! hallelujah I mean who would of thunk it that a person with Lupus would be able to loom knit MUCH less crochet. I truly believe I have been healed and thus able to do all this. Anyway, so today I finally tried to crochet a picture! my nephew is a big super mario bros fan and I am planning on making him a blanket. My first attempt was for Yoshi!!! i used regular graph paper and downloaded the image off of google. I used an H crochet hook and redheart super saver yarn in white, black, green, and orange.
if you are an expert crocheter or just have some suggestions on how to make it look better OH PLEASE LET ME KNOW. this is my first try and i wasnt really to careful on carrying over the different color yarns so thats why it looks kind of frayed in parts.
